Patient Journey

How does the patient journey work?

  • The patient completes in a short form about the condition for which they require treatment.

  • The patient calls us by phone

  • Or books an appointment with us to speak.

Once screened by our clinical team, if eligible, they will have a call with our consultants and, if eligible, they will be prescribed with medicinal cannabis.
There are multiple consultant patient reviews throughout the first year of use and it is not uncommon for patients to have 8-12 prescriptions per year.

How do patients take medical cannabis?

Medical cannabis is available in several formats to suit different needs and preferences. Patients may be prescribed sublingual oils, vape cartridges, soft pastilles, topical creams or cannabis flower designed to be ground and used in a medical-grade vaporiser. The prescribing clinician selects the most appropriate option based on the patient’s condition and response to treatment.

How should I talk to people about medical cannabis?

When speaking to potential patients, the aim is to give them reassurance, clarity and accurate information. The most useful points to share are:

  • Medical cannabis is fully legal in the UK and has been since 2018.
  • Different treatments work for different people, and clinicians tailor prescriptions to each patient.
  • Medical cannabis can be considered for any condition where a doctor believes it may offer clinical benefit.
